The beauty of blogging...

Today I took the time to look through the blogs of all the people on our "fellow favorite bloggers" list. Many blogs are so entertaining! I laughed, I cried (yes, I'm a weenie), and I'm coming back for more. Reading about friends and family, many of which I don't get to see very often, if ever, was so fulfilling. Rich, rich lives. It seems that a blog is a wonderful outlet to find gratitude and introspection.

I have always kept a journal, but nothing worth passing through the generations. You know, I actually kept a better journal before I joined the LDS church and found out that someone might want to read it someday to learn about their great-great-grandma Emily. Chilling thought. When I realized that I immediately threw away all my journals from Jr. High and High School. Maybe it was a mistake, but I still don't miss them. I still keep a journal but the entries are few and far between. I always feel like there is so much to catch up on I don't know where to start.

Blogging is the perfect combination of journaling for oneself and staying in touch with friends and family. Hopefully you all will find this to be true as well. Check out the blogs of those you know or find interesting. Signing out.

10 Years Together

In February, Aaron and I celebrated 10 years of marriage, together, with each other. To be honest, it doesn't feel like it's been that long. Strange to think that we've spent close to a third of our lives together. Pretty soon we will start looking like each other, right?
We flew into Orlando, FL, rented a car and took it over to the eastern coast. We drove a chilly, relaxing ride from the Cocoa Beach area up to Daytona. We spent a couple days in Daytona, soaking up the sun, and enjoying that we were not in Boise in the snow. We were able to stay right on the beach in the most beautiful hotel, and I really can't say that ANYTHING could have been better. (Except maybe our tans.)
After Daytona we set off for Orlando again, and went to Disney World. Yes, that's right, we went to Disney World without our kids. We thought we better check it out first just to make sure it was fun enough for them. It was.

We had lots of fun at the YMCA Splash Week swimming lessons during Spring Break!
All the kids made great strides! Brooklyn did her first dive off the platform. Ian was brave enough to finally put his face in the water.

And Lucas spent his time hanging out with Mom in the Kiddie Pool. We'll be back to lessons in May, look out summer, we're ready for you!

Backup singer superstars...Elliott, Katie, Aaron & Emily

Here's the proof... Aaron is a rock star. Or at least his father-in-law's backup singer.

John Hansen's concert

We enjoyed a great show with loads of talented musicians at the John Hansen "Path of Lease Resistance" reunion concert and CD release! For the last number Pappy invited us all on stage to sing "I Shall be Released". Aaron is back there too. Look closely and you'll see his ear.

Easter Sunday 2008

Easter morning we spent at home hunting for eggs, digging through baskets, and ended the day at Pappy's concert (Emily's dad).
